COVID 19 Information
Notice regarding Covid vaccines and your annual mammogram
Being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and getting screening mammograms are both important and can save lives, but one harmless, temporary side effect of the vaccine and/or booster is lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes) in the armpit. To avoid confusion in your mammogram reading, we recommend that you wait six weeks after having the vaccine or booster to schedule your mammogram.
If you are experiencing any breast symptoms, such as a lump, you should NOT wait to schedule a diagnostic mammogram.
Thank you for your patience
We at Stark Womens Health are aware that with the COVID-19 infection, patients with immunocompromised states or with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness. Social distancing, wearing masks, staggered appointments as well as other measures to prevent infection are the ways we are keeping you as safe as possible. Please continue to schedule and come in for your regular follow ups with your provider. We will give you instructions and information when you call and on our website. Our staff is excited to be able to open up again, so please call today to schedule your appointment.
Attention!
If you have any flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please call our office before arriving no matter what your appointment is for. If you do come in for your appointment, please note we will see only the patient, and anyone else will be asked to wait outside of the building. There will be no visitors in our facility.
SWC is here to help you and your family. We apologize for any inconvenience these temporary adjustments may cause. Our goal is to keep our community healthy and protect them as best we can from any further preventable spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please call our office with any questions.
