Endocrinology
What is Endocrinology
Endocrinology addresses and treats a wide range of hormone-related problems. Hormones are produced by glands throughout the body to regulate metabolism, respiration, growth, reproduction, sensory perception, and movement. An imbalance can lead to problems in any of these bodily functions.
At Stark Women’s Center, we understand that a significant part of women’s health is focused on ensuring a correct balance of hormones. A healthy reproductive system relies on the correct level of estrogen and progesterone, but hormones can also impact a woman’s weight, mood and energy level.
A woman’s hormone level can directly impact incidence of breast cancer, anorexia, polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. Menopausal symptoms and osteoporosis are hormone based, and Infertility also is frequently linked to a hormone imbalance.
Our specialists in endocrinology are available to identify and treat hormone imbalances that may be affecting your health.
